Overview of Java platforms, features, architecture, role of JVM, JDK and JRE. Datatype: primitive and non-primitive data types, variable declaration, operators and precedence. Single and multidimensional arrays, String class, StringBuffer, StringBuilder. Defining methods, types of parameters, call by value/reference, scope of variables.
Defining classes, creating objects, instance vs static members, encapsulation basics. Constructor: types, constructor chaining, destructor, method overloading. Inheritance, types of inheritance, polymorphism, method overriding, dynamic method dispatch, runtime polymorphism. Abstract methods, abstract classes, interfaces, multiple inheritance via interfaces. Packages, access control levels (public, private, protected).
Exception Handling: types of exceptions, try-catch-finally, throw and throws, custom exceptions. File Handling: streams, reading/writing files, object serialization. Collection Framework: ArrayList, HashSet, HashMap, iteration techniques. Multi-Threading: thread lifecycle, creating threads, synchronization basics. Application Development: developing a small Java application integrating OOP, collections, and file handling.
